Citi is to launch a fintech marketplace, making third-party fintech apps and services available to its customers.

The marketplace will make use of API technology that enables customers to share information with financial apps that are a part of the service.

So far, Citi has said it has partnered with eight fintech firms; BillGO, eMoney, Envestnet Yodlee, Expensify, Finicity, Intuit, MX, and Xero.

API access

With the marketplace, Citi customers will be able to provide data access permission to partner apps and services, enabling easy sharing of data.

Speaking to the media, Citi US’s Chief Digital Officer, Mike Naggar said, “Through the use of APIs, these agreements will help provide a seamless and secure data sharing experience for Citi customers who choose to share their financial data with third-party apps and services.”
