TSB has announced that it will be recruiting marketing apprentices in partnership with The Marketing Academy Foundation.

Joining the likes of Nationwide, Prince’s Trust and Amazon, TSB will use The Marketing Academy Foundation to bring two new members into its marketing team.

The apprenticeship scheme will see new recruits join TSB for a year with one working in the digital marketing team and another joining TSB’s internal creative agency.

The Marketing Academy Foundation

The Marketing Academy Foundation is a charity that aims to help young people from challenging backgrounds get a start in the marketing industry.

Speaking on the foundation’s promotional video, senior marketeer at Nationwide, Chris Clayton said, “Through partnering with the foundation, it has enabled us to really fish in a new pool to create that diverse thinking that better reflects our society.”

Speaking to Marketing Week, TSB CMO, Pete Markey said his aim was to bring some ‘fresh thinking’ into the firm.

“…a way to do that is to bring people in who can not just benefit from a career in marketing, but also be there to challenge us and work with us, particularly if they’re approaching marketing from a different background and a different level of experience. Now felt like a moment to harness that momentum and energy in terms of where we’re going next.

“I’m very much looking for these apprentices to learn and get great experience, but also to ask really smart questions, to challenge and shape what we do.”
